On May 3rd The VineOC hosted a pitch competition and the turnout was incredible. More than 30 companies from all over Southern California and across all industries applied to pitch but ultimately only 12 were chosen to pitch in front of the judges and compete for the awesome prizes. Each startup had 3 minutes to talk about their company and to prove to the judges that they were the best by conveying their traction, passion and overall viability. While the many companies that pitched all have promising futures…there could only be one winner!
Without further ado, congratulations to the winner of The VineOC’s inaugural Pitch Competition: Tesloop. Tesloop provides a service for city to city travel in semi-autonomous electric vehicles, all which are Teslas. Their current routes consist of LA to Las Vegas round-trip, Orange County to Las Vegas round-trip and they also plan to start routes to and from the Palm Springs area, San Francisco, as well as San Diego. The trips start at about $85 dollars per person and they have already had hundreds of customers use their service. Keep Tesloop on your radar as they will surely be a company that is talked about due to their success in the immediate future.
The winner, Tesloop, was awarded with a $5000 office credit from our partner and tenant Real Office Center’s, they were awarded with a $500 gift card provided by The VineOC and The Irvine Company, and they were also given 2 hours of professional advising from one of our great tenants and accelerators, Traction Labs.
We will be holding another Pitch Competition on July 28th. The prizes will be the same, food will be provided and we have partnered with Tech Coast Venture Network so there will be a good turnout of prominent, local investors.
